MOST POPULAR
COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How Do I Register?
Registering is straightforward. Just follow the steps to join any of our open leagues that aren’t filled up. Payment is carried out via bank transfer – you’ll be sent an invoice as part of the sign up process.
How Big Is a Team?
- 5-a-side: A team will consist of approximately 7-8 players.
- 6-a-side: A team will consist of approximately 8-10 players.
Having more players in your squad allows for squad substitutions during a match, and also ensures that if you cannot attend a particular match, you should still have the numbers to fill the team.
How Long Is A Season?
A typical season will last roughly 10 weeks, and therefore 10 matches. However, you should check the specific league that you want to join as that will provide the correct number for that league.
Can I Join With A Group Of Friends?
Currently, we do not permit full teams to sign up together for the following reasons:
- This jeopardises our mission: to bring people together by levelling the social playing field.
- It adds an additional level of imbalance to the competition. It is more likely that an already-established group would perform better than the rest of the teams.
You are however, allowed to join with one additional friend/family member. In fact, we encourage it!
Do you cater for mixed leagues?
Yes! Unless stated otherwise, our leagues are designed for any gender to sign up and participate.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes – you must be 18+ to participate in one of our public leagues.
What if I have to drop out half way through the league?
It’s always a shame (for your team and us) if circumstances force you to drop out during a league season. Please inform your team, and also contact us so that we can find a resolution that works for you.
How do the teams get decided?
We will randomly assign players to teams, giving some consideration to age brackets for optimal fairness. If you sign up with a friend, we will ensure that you are on the same team.
NEW MEMBER QUERIES
I'M NOT SURE HOW TO SIGN UP
Registering is a very simple process. Your first task is to pick a league that you want to join. Once you have done that, follow the steps that will guide you towards league registration. We will need to collect some data, but in accordance with GDPR, we will only collect what we absolutely need to give you the best possible experience.
How Do I Join With A Friend?
The registration form will ask you if you are joining for two people or just one. If joining for two, you’ll be asked to provide your friend’s details too. If you want your friend to pay, you’ll need to specify that so that we can send your friend a separate invoice for their share.
I'm not sure if I will enjoy the league
You’re not alone! Before joining, why not come down and watch one of our matches play out? Please do let us know in advance so we can host you, and also introduce ourselves to you.
What if the league I want to join is full?
Our leagues operate on a first come first served basis. However, please do keep an eye out since we will continue to add more leagues in the future.
LEAGUE INFORMATION
What exactly is a league?
Unlike a tournament, a league is a system where every team plays every other team at least once. Combined with a points system for wins, losses and draws, a league table will determine the ranking of each team in the season and at the end, a winner shall be crowned!
How do I view my fixtures?
Once you have registered for a league, you will be given access to a page where you can view your team’s upcoming fixtures including what time they are scheduled to start. This is also where you gain access to league rankings and other useful information such as the location of your match.
How can I contact my team?
We will email you with your team members’ mobile phone numbers prior to the league starting. We recommend that you use a common messaging app e.g. Whatsapp to communicate with each other. After all, this is all about making friends as well as enjoying a sport!
How do results get updated?
Our referees will record the results and take care of updating the league standings within 24 hours of the match being played.
MISSING PLAYERS
What if we don't have enough players?
Hopefully your team is big enough to cater for a missing player or two. However, if you’re falling below the minimum requirement, please inform us. We will do what we can to find you a substitute.
Do we have to forfeit if we don't have enough players?
There is a chance that this may happen. We will do our best to ensure that you get to play a game, even if it ends up being a friendly. There are no refunds if your team has to forfeit.
UPDATING YOUR TEAM
Can I change my team name?
If your team doesn’t like the name it is given, reach out to us with a newly agreed name. As long as it isn’t rude or offensive, we will do our best to change it!
A team member has dropped out permanently
We will treat each situation on a case by case basis. In the event that you need a replacement, we will try to find a substitute to step in for the rest of the season.
PAYMENTS & REFUNDS
What payment methods do you support?
Once you register for a league, we will send you a unique invoice that will contain the payment information and the ability to pay by card or PayPal securely via a reputable payment processor. We are not interested in storing your card information – we will not be able to obtain your details!
What if I am joining with a friend?
Just let us know in the registration form if you are paying for your friend, or if you’d like us to send your friend a separate invoice for their share.
Do you offer discounts?
We may occasionally run discount schemes for our leagues.
What is your refund policy?
If there is at least one week left until the first fixture of a league, you are entitled to a full refund. Just contact us and we will sort that right out for you. If however, the league is close to beginning or has begun, we will not provide any refunds.
Do I have to pay the whole amount in one go?
We’re afraid so. We cannot take weekly payments and we do not support finance plans. In order to successfully register for a league, we will require payment in full.
MATCH DAY
What if the weather conditions are bad?
A little bit of rain won’t hurt anyone! However, if the weather conditions are deemed unsafe, then we will email everyone and postpone the fixture day. Your league will just be extended by an additional week to cater for the missed match.
What if a referee cancels?
In the very unlikely event that a referee cannot be made available, your fixture day can get postponed. Your season will be extended by a week to cater for the missed game. You will also be offered compensation for that particular game week.
